Not enough ME to Love .... boo-hoo

No comments:

I am told daily;

that I am not a good enough of a person,

to act normal or to communicate on a day to day basis

and that I am crazy.

 Half the time -

I have no idea where its coming from

and

why it directed towards me

in such contempt and anger

but its coming and quickly  escalates

further and further

into the black abyss's
darkened hole

filled of fire and hate

only heated

from a twisted

and sick kind of

love

of the worst kind. ....

PTSD strikes women twice as hard

Women with post-traumatic stress disorder internalize their emotions, while male sufferers act them
out. The rates of depression and attempted suicides are higher in females with PTSD.

I am, one of close to 8 million American adults who suffer from PTSD
Twice as many women are diagnosed with PTSD as men, and recent research shows that women with PTSD are more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety and attempt suicide than men with the condition.
A wide range of traumatic events can trigger PTSD, from sexual assault and child abuse to exposure to violence in combat. And with more women in the military than ever before, more female veterans are coming home having experienced trauma.
In the midst of this development, researchers are trying to understand how different types of trauma affect women, in hopes of preventing and more effectively treating PTSD.
Post-traumatic stress disorder was first recognized in Vietnam veterans, and was categorized as a diagnosis by the American Psychological Association in 1980.
Afterward, it was identified in women who were victims of sexual assault.
PTSD is an anxiety disorder characterized by a prolonged emotional response — such as fear, numbness, panic attacks or depression — to a past traumatic event.
According to the latest version of the bible of psychology,
“Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,”
the traumatic event must involve a threat on someone’s life or physical integrity.
The traumatized individual could have been the target of the threat, or a witness to the event.
The treatment community divides the most common symptoms of PTSD into three groups.
First, a victim can constantly be on high alert, suffer from panic attacks and be irritable.
Second, she can repress the event, sometimes avoiding relationships and social situations in daily life.
Finally, she may be overwhelmed by frequent and painful memories so much that she can’t function.
Of course, PTSD is hardly a simple diagnosis, and each victim may have a different set of symptoms and other psychological diagnoses, called comorbidities, that go hand in hand with the effects of PTSD.
The common link is the initial trauma that triggered an emotional and biological response in the victim — a response that lasts long after the event itself has passed.
A case of a 29-year-old woman from Western Australia who has suffered from PTSD, since she was raped by three male friends 11 years ago.
She is now married and has a young daughter, but still experiences nightmares of her attack.
“I went through a period of being suicidal, which was awful,” she’s recalls.
“It’s still an urge I have to control.
Ever since the event, it’s like there’s a part of me that just wants to die.”
She can’t hold a job because of her difficulty handling stress and interacting with coworkers, and she sometimes has trouble containing her anger if she feels threatened by a man.
According to one estimate, about one in ten women will suffer from PTSD at some point their lives, but it will afflict only one in 28 men.
Some of this difference can be attributed to the frequency of certain kinds of traumatic events in women’s lives.
“One of the factors is that women are more likely to experience sexual assault,” says Dawne Vogt, psychologist in the Women’s Health Sciences Division at the National Center for PTSD
Studies show that women are six times more likely to be sexually assaulted than men, and “we know that sexual assault is more likely to cause PTSD than other types of trauma,” Vogt says.
But this isn’t the whole story. In fact, men are exposed to potentially traumatic events on the whole at a significantly higher rate than women — up to four times as many, according to one study.
The trauma may stem from combat, accidents, disasters and fires, nonsexual assault or witnessing a death or serious injury.
Even when controlling for the type and frequency of trauma, research shows that women still get PTSD at a higher rate than men for all of these types of events. .
The exception is after experiences with child abuse and sexual assault, women and men suffer PTSD at similar rates.

repressed memory therapy (trauma-search therapy)

...on critical examination, the scientific evidence for repression crumbles. --Harrison G Pope
In Freud's theory of "repression" the mind automatically banishes traumatic events from memory to prevent overwhelming anxiety. Freud further theorized that repressed memories cause "neurosis," which could be cured if the memories were made conscious. While all this is taught in introductory psychology courses and has been taken by novelists and screenwriters to be a truism, Freud's repression theory has never been verified by rigorous scientific proof.--John Hockmann

    • There are physical signs of injury, such as bruises, sores, burns, cuts, or black eyes. Such injuries may be hidden (e.g., behind sunglasses or
    • with clothing)
  • The victim makes implausible excuses for injuries or absences ("I fell down the stairs").
  • The victim displays personality changes (angry, depressed, moody, defensive, etc.)
  • The victim becomes withdrawn, or suddenly fearful.
  • The victim becomes depressed, or more irritable or agitated than normal.
  • The victim has difficulty sleeping at night, or may display excessive tiredness (can be a symptom of depression)
  • The victim's appetite changes for better or worse. Weight loss or gain may occur (can be a symptom of depression).
  • The victim's self-esteem lowers.
  • The victim is distracted and has difficulty concentrating.
  • The victim neglects hygiene (becomes smelly, goes unwashed; may be an attempt to ward off a sexual predator if a child, or as a consequence of depression).
  • Changes are noted in the victim's personal appearance or in the appearance of his or her home or living environment.
  • The victim complains of pain in the genital region (more common in children).
  • For older children and adults, the victim 'acts out', becoming sexually promiscuous, and/or using drugs.
  • Elders may display confusion

Been a bunch of bull shit

No comments:
Following is some of the things, i have had to go through, since I came about knowing the truth of abuse while living through it.    Self discovery of such traumatic experiences brings forth an abundant amount of secondary consequences and ever lasting rippling after effects of triggers. Nightmares are at top of reminders to deal with.  Nightmares are something we have no control of as we sleep. I am helpless when it comes to my subconscious mind and reliving various incidents while sleeping has me absolutely lost the while next day. As if life isn't hard enough as it is, to get through without  traumatic stressors.  These stressors have many variables, with some you' ll see a mix of delusional thinking, paranoid behaviours and a lot of individuals go through the revictimization all over again.  They amount of stress reflects on each person differently and to according to their situational circumstances. Depending on the biosocial perspective it varies in ways it actually effect you.  Some individuals are able to stand through much more difficult elements of tramatic events and some aren't able to handle even the slight start of abuse.  Repression of memories are another source of secondary consequences that remain with me thought its been ling ago tha the abuse took place.  These kind of memories are the creator of my PTSD, Post Taumatic Stress that is, causes much anxiety, phobia's and pananic attacks.  Nightmares are the first sign when looking for a diagnosis of PSTD, its also stress related from being exposed to trauma over an unknown amount of time. Another form of secondary after effects would be the inability to maintain a normal intra or personal relationship, premisquity, and they live a very black and white lifestyle with no gray area to say, its one extreme to the next with me.

Another side effect that alters the mind of the victim is thier ability to dissassociate from reality, from thier life from the pain.  Which can be quite hard for the victims loved ones.  I know that there are several times i was in a psychosis and walked away from my life for up to a year the last time. At this time I was unable to handle all the pressures and stress that everyday lifes activities where far to much to handle, creating a stronger sub concious and letting them have control so that you arent able to take on the whole break down you go into a trance like state if mund.
